I was twelve years old when I saw this game with 3 friends from Jr. High School. I remember it was a rainy day. The Dodgers got an early lead, KOing the Cubs starting pitcher, which brought in Willie Ramsdell from the bullpen. Carl Erskine was pitching a no-hitter at the time. In the bottom of the third inning, Ramsdell, was at bat with two outs. Even though he was a weak hitter, Erskine walked Ramsdell on
four pitches because he was in a rush to get in an official game. Erskine went on to complete the no-hitter and Ramsdell was the only batter to reach base.

I would be interested if there are any other recollections of this game
