I went to this game with my Aunt Lucille and my brother, Doug - the tickets were purchased as a High School Graduation gift from Doug. I got to see my Baseball idol Pete "Charlie Hustle" Rose lead the Phils to a win over the Braves with a 2-run double and a run scored. Larry McWilliams, the starting pitcher from the August 1978 game that ended Rose's 44-game hitting streak, was the starter for the Braves in this game as well. I didn't get Rose's autograph for this game, but I got one from then-Braves manager Joe Torre - many seasons before he added his name to the great Yankee managers of all-time. I remember Rose hitting "fungo-like" back at HOF'er Mike Schmidt on Phils visiting dugout side as I was getting my seat - on the Phillies side. I felt like a kid again, and MLB just isn't the same anymore. Rose, Schmidt, Murphy, The Mad Hungarian, and more - what a memorable game.
